Walk the World OKC 2011, May 29, Casady Lake, 4-6 p.m.

Walk the World OKC 2011 joins walks around the world to end childhood hunger. http://walktheworldokc.blogspot.com/



When? May 29, 4:00-6:00 p.m.
Where? Around the Casady Lake. Registration at Gaylord Student Center
Why? Raise awareness of the childhood hunger challenge and funding for the United Nations, World Food Programme, School Meals and the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, kids feeding programs.

1. YAC Britton Buddies Reflection and Evaluation of project: The group decided to continue and expand the project next year. They elected officers and created a process for next year, which will be discussed with Mr. Huestis due to the schedule constrains from the new schedule.

2. Walk the World:OKC 2011 Flyer ready to be placed around campus. Thank you to Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma Development and Marketing Department for your help. Casady's Marketing Department is revising the press release made by Arjun and Shiva. Marketing department will contact the appropiate media venues. Jasmine did not attend the YAC meeting, so no updates from her. From Mrs. Clay, the update is: Buddha Mind Monastery nun will be officiating the lantern ceremony. The goal of the walk is to raise awareness as well as funding. Pledge forms will be made available next week after Relay for Life ends. Jasmine is working on solicitation letter.


3. Relay for Life is this Friday.
Volunteers needed to place flyers around school. YAC members participating: Mrs. Clay, Reshwan, Jonesha, and D.J.

4. Question to STUCO? Would STUCO take SERVICE as a focus? Liz responded: Only one charity per year. STUCO and YAC serve different purposes.

5. YAC meets 8th grade advisories: Caitlin has not been able to attend so NO YAC Meets 8th grade advisories. Mrs. Clay has gone to every advisory to explain the requirement. Mrs. Clay has requested one day for YAC, STUCO, and Gales to talk to the 8th graders about next year in the UD.
