YAC students were not reminded that there was a yearbook picture to be taken. We apologize to Mr. Effinger. Would we have had more than the 16 in the last photo? Maybe not. 7 students attended the meeting. Only one Relay for Life student came with letters. No one signed-up.
Jessica reported on
weeks at other schools to raise funding. Nicole suggested to present her ideas
to STUCO for crazy fun week.
Here is where HH is doing new this year: ICE week
is our Improving Community Excellence week.. fundraising awareness for OU Cancer
Institute and SWAG week is Student's with a Goal week. This is put on by Dr.
Crynes' peer leadership group. They will have a week of various activities and
then a day of service on Friday.
YAC has the opportunity to do something for National Volunteer Week or join hands with STUCO to promote a school wide event with focus on service this year. What would YAC students want to do??? Or is YAC done for the year?
Mrs. Clay asked YAC if they wanted to have a YAC team at the dodge ball tournament. They said yes, but the few students present were all in a team already or had commitments during the weekend. Only Blake G. said yes and he became the captain of a team with two players. Blake named the team, Team Peace.
Mrs. Clay notified Nicole who registered the team with STUCO. She suggested maybe joining with other incomplete teams. We will see what happens.
Jessica G. said that she might come with a friend and join the Peace Team. Mrs. Clay will pay the entry fee with money Jessica raised for YAC selling Wings items at Fall fest.
