1st Service-Learning Friday, August 28-Library Study Halls
We explored the I of INVESTIGATION. Who are we?
Process
1. Who is the Friday Service-Learning Facilitator: Mrs. Carmen Clay
2. Make a creative name tag for visitors to know who we are
3. Profile Completion. Pictures for profiles. Answer four questions
4. Share profile with someone you do not know very well.
5. Report one interesting finding to whole group.
During the double: The only class that completed the process was the double. Others are yet to discuss their finding and report.
Supplies: Scrapbook paper, crayolas, markers, stencils, pens, CD Player and Up with People CD
Process followed:
1. Asked questions to get to know a few facts about the YAC facilitator.
2. Made name tags
3. Completed profiles form. Profiles will be shared at Open Houses and with YAC home group facilitators.
4. Assigned groups of two: People they do not usually hang out with. - Report one interesting finding. Done only in the double.
Next Friday: I-Investigation: P:Planning first Study Halls Project. Finish sharing profiles. Set Guidelines of Interaction. What do we know about volunteerism and service-learning.
